Our work is based on the Quaker testimonies of peace and nonviolence, equality and social justice, integrity, simplicity and community. You may be interested in this booklet on the testimonies by the American Friends Service Committee.
These testimonies are the basis of the policies developed by the FCLCA General Committee that guide our work. FCLCA's policy statements are attached below as PDF documents.
In the recent 2021-2022 legislative session, we focused on criminal justice reform, immigration and civil rights, economic justice and environmental justice. These issues are addressed through the state budget process and through bills that work their way through the legislative process from January through September.
In addition to advocating on legislation, FCLCA also makes recommendations on California's ballot propositions. See more here.
