Become a monthly sustainer!
Our monthly sustaining donors provide steady, reliable income to make our advocacy possible. Many people find they can give more by giving monthly. FCLCA, our lobbying organization, in particular, needs sustaining support. The minimum monthly amount is $10.00.
To start this process, please download the form in the section below. Fill it out, sign and return via mail to FCLCA, 2030 W. El Camino Avenue, Suite 210, Sacramento, CA 95833 or scan and send it as an attachment to dale@fclca.org.
Make a tax-deductible donation of stock to the FCL Education Fund
Donating stock held more than a year to a charity can be tax-advantaged, as the tax deduction is equal to the fair market value of the stock at the time you donate rather than the cost basis of the stock, subject to certain limits, and you do not pay capital gains tax on donated stock. We suggest that you talk with your financial advisor to see if this type of gift is right for you. If you would like to make a gift of stock to the FCL Education Fund, please contact us for instructions to give to your broker. Call us at (916) 443-3734 or email: Kevan Insko, Director – kevan@fclca.org or Dale Richter, Office Administrator – dale@fclca.org
Donate to the FCL Education Fund from your IRA - Making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)
If you are age 70 1/2 or older, you may want to give from your IRA via a QCD. A QCD permits annual direct transfers to a qualified charity of a portion of tax-deferred IRA savings. The distribution is made directly to the charity and does not increase your income. This can be beneficial for many people because a higher income can have impacts such as increasing the tax on social security benefits and increasing Medicare premiums. If you have a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), the QCD will count as part of the RMD. We suggest you talk to your financial advisor to see if this method of giving is right for you.
Many IRA custodians have forms and information online on how to process a QCD. (Example from Fidelity) The check must be made out directly from your IRA to FCL Education Fund, and must generally clear by December 31. Please make sure that the correspondence or check includes information on the donor and that the gift is a QCD. (Tax ID Number 68-0062639).

Please contact Kevan Insko, kevan@fclca.org, if you are considering a QCD to the FCL Education Fund.
